Dropping off empty boxes – Place your order through the online portal and your boxes will be delivered to you within a day at the time specified at checkout. Pack your boxes while we wait (for up to 15 minutes) or we’ll pick them up when you’re done, just let us know when. Dropping off your stored boxes – Most if not all of us have encountered the classic 9-5 time window that most companies will give you when they have to attend your home. This is a huge waste of time that costs you your entire day. Second Closet provides you with a guaranteed time window of 3 hours. We are constantly striving to improve our service and as we grow, our customers will see a reduction in delivery lead times and delivery windows.
Our process is effortless, quick, and can be entirely controlled through our online platform. After placing an order, we’ll deliver your boxes along with any packing supplies requested. Your boxes come complete with barcodes and safety seals. Begin packing while using our website to photograph and itemize the contents of each box (helpful for when you want to recall a specific box!). Once finished, apply the safety seals and let us know that they’re ready to be picked up. When you are ready to get your stuff back, we will deliver any number of your items during a time-window set by you.
Absolutely not! Second Closet offers storage on demand. You can recall as little as one, or as many as all of your boxes/bulky items at a time.
Great question! Right now we cover the entire GTA. We go as far West as Kitchener-Waterloo, as far east as Brock Rd, up north to Highway 9, and as far south as Hamilton. You can have a look at the map below for more details.
Of course! You only pay for the space you use. If you reduce the amount of boxes you are storing, your monthly rate will decrease as well.
After you receive your bins, we will wait up to 15 mins while you pack your things. If you have a lot to pack, you can take up to two weeks.
Unfortunately we do not offer that service. Most friends are willing to help for the low cost of pizza and beer!
Second Closet is here to serve you 7 days a week – Monday through Sunday – from 10AM to 10PM. We are in full operation everyday, including all major holidays except Christmas day.
Looks like you want a popular time! Certain delivery times are locked automatically if we get over a certain number of orders for that timeslot.
Our regular delivery hours are within 15 hours from the time you re-order your stuff online. If you happen to need expedited service, we can easily accommodate a rush delivery in as little as 90 minutes for a reasonable surcharge. We deliver 7 days per week and provide 3-hour appointment windows.
Your items will be stored in a facility that is fully operated by Second Closet. We're proud to be the only valet storage company to operate its own facility, in order to maintain the highest standard of security. Our facility is surveilled and monitored 24/7.
Yes. We will not store foodstuff or perishable items, liquids, explosive devices or any illegal substances or drugs recognized as illegal according to local, provincial, and federal laws. You can store anything from season items such as clothing and sports equipment to old books, documents, and keepsakes. We also do not recommend storing valuables, or money. If you are storing fragile items such as mirrors and glass, we require that you wrap these items in protective wrap. We're also happy to bring bubble wrap to your appointment!
Boxes have a maximum weight of 50lbs. Bulky items have a limit of 75lbs.
As many as you’d like! We’re here to help you declutter, organize and make your space yours again.
Yes, we supply most of what you would require to pack your boxes. This includes bubblewrap, kraft paper, and wardrobe boxes. Just be sure to select these items at checkout.
Absolutely! Storing your own boxes starts at $3/month, and scales to $9/month as the size of your boxes increase.
Second Closet’s box dimensions are: Regular Box: 21” long x 14” wide x 11.5” high, Oversized Box: 27.5” long x 18” wide x 13” high, Wardrobe Box: 46” tall x 24” wide x 20” deep. Learn more on our pricing page.
Yes! Second Closet does store furniture items. If you have an item you are unsure about, send us an e-mail at [email protected] and one our Storage Specialist will be happy to assist you.
The beauty of Second Closet is that you only pay for the storage you use. After you’ve packed your items and there are unused bins remaining, return them to us empty and you will only be charged for the boxes that have been used.
We at Second Closet understand that not everything fits into our standard box sizes. We can store your irregular sized and shaped items so long as they can be carried out of your home by one person. Some items that may come to mind are: Bicycles, Kayaks/Canoes, Luggage, Skis/Snowboards, Small furniture, Luggage, Golf Clubs, Carpets/Rugs, Window Air Conditioning Units. Absolutely! We’ve actually had a lot of customers go this route as it clears out both their items and the bulky luggage itself. Our only limit is that each bag can weigh no more than 50lbs, since we are going to be picking them up for you.
